Welcome to my site! I am CB Friedland, a Dexter, Michigan-based educator, photographer, human. I have spent a lifetime doing what I was expected to do. Listening to my brutal inner self-defeating voice that told me I couldn’t. Then one day I asked “why not?” and took the first step towards living life on my terms. Now I share my personal journey and what I have learned to help artists remove the biggest obstacle to achieving their fullest potential: Themselves.
When I am not helping photographers reach their fullest potential, you can find me out on the road, camera in hand. Whether it is a natural or urban landscape setting, the one thing you can count on is that there is likely water nearby for me to include in my frame. You can follow my adventures both here on my website, or at Outdoor Photography Guide where I am a frequent contributor.
I am sure that you noticed that I called out being human as one of my roles; here’s why. To begin with, I am not really that different than you. I am just a regular guy, who through a lot of hard work, a bunch of time studying, and some great advice along the way was able to elevate the quality of his shots. One of my biggest challenges was to overcome my own fears and stop listening to the hyper-critical voice in my head telling me that I wasn’t any good. Once I did, my work flourished, and I knew that I needed to share this lesson with others.
